Omya Idwala SA

Calcium Carbonate

Polymers

Functional mineral filler for film, fibre, pipe, cable, and moulded applications.

Calcium carbonate is the most widely used functional filler in thermoplastics — and for good reason. Properly selected and surface-treated CaCO₃ reduces resin consumption, improves stiffness and impact balance, increases output through better thermal conductivity, and stabilises dimensional behaviour in extrusion and moulding.

Omya Idwala supplies coated and uncoated grades engineered for South African polymer converters, with particle size distributions matched to each process window — from 1 µm top-cut film grades to coarser grades for rigid profile extrusion. Local stock, local technical support, global product technology.
